Llewellin’s Gears operates a quality management system accredited to ISO 9001:2015, ensuring that every component we manufacture is produced to a consistent, repeatable standard. This accreditation applies across our entire operation — from order placement to final inspection and dispatch.

We follow defined procedures at each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable quality requirements. Our aim is to deliver components that meet specification first time, every time.

Manufacturing

Our manufacturing process is supported by three key elements:

  • Experienced personnel trained in precision engineering and gear production.
  • Documented working practices in line with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Ongoing investment in tooling, machinery, and process improvements.

Quality checks are built into the process route for each job. These checkpoints are determined according to part complexity, tolerances, and customer requirements, ensuring inspection takes place at the most critical stages of production.

Inspection

Inspection is carried out using calibrated measuring equipment appropriate to the part and tolerance requirements. Our inspection capability includes dimensional measurement, surface finish assessment, and visual examination.

  • First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and inspection reports can be provided with parts where required.
  • Gear performance validation, including backlash checks, can be carried out if specified.
  • All measuring equipment is maintained and calibrated in accordance with our ISO 9001 procedures.

This ensures that only components meeting specification are approved for dispatch.

Service and Documentation

Every order is issued with a unique job number. This number links to all related production and inspection records, forming a complete manufacturing history. Job records are retained, enabling accurate repeat manufacture when required.

By maintaining ISO 9001:2015 quality standards throughout our operation, Llewellin’s Gears provides customers with the assurance that every component has been produced under controlled, documented, and verified processes.
